F-22 is a cool plane, it just has 2 problems. 1.cost-the plane is almost too much to make a good sized fleet out of 2.combat radius-the F-22 is not invulnerable, it has weaknesses. yes its appears on radar as the size of a large bird, but i think the enemy will figure out that a bird can't fly at mach 2.5. When this plane does get into a dogfight then it will only have enough fuel for a very short match. If the Raptor was flying against something like the Russian SU-37 Flanker, then it would have some troubles. The Flanker is just as agile and fast as the Raptor and can go as high, but the Flanker does have one advantage, it is able to carry more fuel and therefore dogfight for longer periods of time.

Sounds like a gross rationalization and distortion of a real world scenario---as if the SU-30-35-37s are invulnerable. They are not. The complexities of this type of engagement cannot be summed up on an Internet blog.

No fighter enters combat at Mach 2.5. The overwhelming majority of these Fighter vs Fighter blog scenarios are totally and I mean totally meaningless. Myself included.
